Lithuania’s Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius visited the site Friday to view the synagogue’s excavated fragments and attend as 25 Jewish Lithuanian students of the local Beis Menachem school prayed there"

Jedwabne, Poland - Ceremony Honors Jews Killed in Massacre by Their Neighbors

"State and religious leaders are marking 70 years on Sunday since Polish villagers murdered hundreds of their Jewish neighbors in a World War II massacre that caused painful soul-searching in Poland when it was revealed in 2000.

In an agonizing debate at the time Poles were forced to modify their belief, shaped by decades of communist-era propaganda, that they were always heroic victims — never collaborators — in Nazi-era atrocities.

The date of the massacre in the village of Jedwabne has entered Poland’s remembrance calendar and the state and church leaders have apologized. But it still remains to be seen to what extent the entire nation has acknowledged cases of Polish wrongdoing against the Jews"

Chief Rabbi: Equality laws leading to new Mayflower exodus

"New equality laws are forcing religious people to flee the country because they are being denied the freedom to live in accordance with their beliefs, the Chief Rabbi, Lord Sacks, has warned.

The Orthodox Jewish leader claimed that anti-discrimination policies had fuelled an “erosion of religious liberty" in Britain that was leading to a new “Mayflower”, a reference to the flight of the persecuted Pilgrim Fathers to America in the 17th century."

Warsaw - Poland Complains to Vatican over Priest's Anti-Semitic Remarks

Berlin, Germany - Schindler's List Creator Dies At 91

"The man who typed up Oskar Schindler’s list which helped save more than 1,000 Jews from the Nazis, Mietek Pemper, has died in Germany aged 91, the Bavarian city where he lived said Thursday.

Pemper died Tuesday in Augsburg, southern Germany, and is to be buried in the city’s Jewish cemetery Friday, when municipal authorities will order flags to be lowered to half-mast in his honour"

Poland braces itself for 'vulgar' British stag season


Although I live in Poland I’m proud of being British. I’ve made lots of friend here in Szczecin and I’m treated with the greatest of respect.

Once or twice a year we visit Krakow, it’s a great city and a good place to ‘chill out’ in some fine restaurants, Coffee houses and bars. Unfortunately we tend to avoid May to August due to the disgraceful behaviour of some of my fellow countrymen.
